The Adam Style

During the period from 1780-1820, the Adam Style took over as most prominent approach to architecture in New England. This technique is known for its lightness and fineness, utilizing thin and widely-spaced columns, delicate geometric and naturalistic ornamentation, and narrower windows than those of the Georgian colonial style. The Adam Style also includes a larger number of curved shapes than other Classical styles, as well as a subtle roof.
