The columns of the MFA's facade are made of granite, much like the columns in the Pantheon. The Pantheon, however, has columns made from Egyptian grey (as well as red) granite with marble capitals and bases. The rest of the structure, including the dome, is mostly concrete, a material very prevalent in Roman architecture and first used by the Romans. The facade of the MFA appears to be entirely granite.
