Enduring Persona is the first web-based project of the semifold performance collective. This first effort of America's seminal performance collective is intended to give some insight into some of the twentieth centuries' most import performance artists. Many, if not most, of these artists are unsung heroes to the modern generation of people working within the field of performance. Some, like Mr. Frederick Blassie, were performing before the term was ever used in relation to works of art. Others, like the more modern Randall Poffo and Aurelian Smith Jr. were fully aware of the theoretical and conceptual dialog occuring in their field, taking full advantage of it to create nearly indescribably significant events. Part of this project is an effort to give credit where credit is due, part of it is to create a dialog about performance and performative works in the context of the real world, part of it is to extend that dialog beyond its normal confines.
