Paul Lehrman,
Director, Senior Lecturer in Music Dr. Lehrman supervises the multimedia lab in the Granoff Music Center and the concert recording and production facilities in Distler Recital Hall, as well as the Electronic Musical Instrument Design lab in Curtis Hall. He teaches Music 61, Computer Tools for Musicians; Music 141/ES95me, Electronic Musical Instrument Design; Music 90, Electronic Music Ensemble; Music 61, Origins of Electronic Music, and in the past co-taught Music Apps for the iPad. He created Music 140/142, Music Recording & Production. He oversees the Music Recording & Production and Electronic Instrument Design tracks of the Music Engineering minor. Rogers, Co-Director, Professor of Mechanical Engineering Professor Rogers directs the Tufts University Future Technologies Lab and is co-director of the Center for Engineering Education and Outreach. He started the Musical Instrument Engineering program in 1998. Bradford Swanson,
Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering Mr. Swanson is a musician, engineer, producer, and educator. He has done substantial work in progressive jazz, acoustic, and chamber music projects, working with clients ranging from Boyz II Men, Dawn of MIDI, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and The Bad Plus. He has also served as a marketing manager at iZotope, Inc. He taught ES 65, the engineering section of Music Recording & Production. |

Tom Bates,
Lecturer in Electrical Engineering Mr. Bates was a multi-Grammy-winning engineer and producer, whose credits included Paul Simon, Sting, the Metropolitan Opera, and Saturday Night Live, and was also the inventor of a number of important innovations in the professional audio field. He was the original instructor for EE 65, Music Recording & Production. He passed away in December, 2016. |
