Much has been said by Eddie Adams about this photograph that he took (see here) but it is simply an image of a South Vietnemese general executing a Vietcong on the street in cold blood. The immediacy of the act and the impending sense of death is evident in this picture, to a point where the reality of the situation seems almost unreal.
