The earliest known evidence of human art dates as far back as four hundred thousand years ago. Hominids (early ancestors of humans) created cave imagery to chronicle events, and to depict stories visually. This primitive human instinct to decorate one’s surroundings can certainly be considered one of the driving forces behind graffiti in the modern world. This image shows the wall of a cave in Zambia, close to the center of early hominid culture. |
