BOTH NEW YORK GRAFFITI ARTISTS, TWO DIFFERENT CREWS
Crew: A group or collective of graffiti artists. At times referred to as a gang.

Origins: Both of these images were produced by New York City Crews.
Artists: Lee of the Fabulous Five produced the image on the left. Tee Bag of the Death Squad Produced the image on the right
Styles: As it can be seen, the styles are very different. It seems that Lee's style is much more clean and contrasting while Tee Bag looks more like a "bombing" style. Bombing is when graffiti artists prolifically write over many areas as to gain "ground". Tee Bag's also seems to convey a feeling of a melting tag rather than a solid everlasting one like Lee's; there is more motion in Tee Bag's painting.
Composition: Lee has produced a very balanced image. It is very symmetrical while also holding consistent letter heights and widths. On the other hand, Tee Bag gives a much more chaotic feel to his composition: the letters vary in size, width, height, etc. It is not to say that there is no consistancy in Tee Bag's composition, however, it is not nearly as balanced as Lee's.
Colors: Again, it seems that Lee's image is much more simple. There are two main colors: torquoise and black creating a great degree of 3-D depth to his letters. Tee Bag uses many colors with a greenish-blue background. A pattern in the use of his colors is not apparent.
Influences: The influences come most from the different goals of the crews. Lee' Fabulous Five crew largely believes in "Whole Train" Painting; his crew covers entire train cars in graffiti rather than just one wall. This may be why Lee has to creat such contrast and depth as to set itself apart as a different piece of work than other bombings on the same train. It is not indicated whether this image is only a portion of a wall/train or if it is interconnected with others. Tee Bag's Death Squad crew largely believes in distinct styles rather than bombing. Although, this crew does bomb. It is not indicated whether this was intended to be a bomb or not. It appears that Tee Bag is trying to convey a feeling of a bomb at first glance, but under careful examination there is much more intricacy to his painting. As indicated earlier, it appears that Tee Bag is trying to convey a sense of motion through the messy/melting in his paiting.
